Food Bank Seeking Support for Holidays

The Snohomish Community Food Bank is already planning for the Thanksgiving and Christmas Services with expectations for feeding 425 families for each holiday. We are reaching out to the community, especially to groups of people who would like to “sponsor” a product and bring in 100, 225 or 425 quantity of that item. “This way, we can control the inventory, receive exactly what we need and offer the same menu to all families,” explains Elizabeth Grant, Director of the Snohomish Community Food Bank. “We have a list of about 30 items that we would like to collect to make it a nice dinner for everyone.”

If your organization or club would like to participate, please call Elizabeth Grant at 360.568.7993 and pledge the product and quantity you would like to collect. Delivery date for Thanksgiving is Friday, November 16th and for Christmas is Friday, December 14th.

In addition to the pledges, we will be asking for turkeys (8 – 12 pounds are great) for Thanksgiving;  hams (4 – 8 pounds) and whole chickens (4 pounds) for Christmas. It seems that whenever there is a challenge for us, this community responds generously. It is an incredible example of neighbors helping neighbors.

The Food Bank is also collecting toys for the Tree of Giving. Gifts will be distributed to parents on December 14th and 15th for children 18 and under.
