The local growing season flourished during this Summers incredible weather and the Food Bank received a record 24,460 pounds from the bountiful harvest. Professional farms and home gardeners alike dropped off box after box of pears, plums, kale, zucchini, beans and tomatoes just to name a few. Fresh fruits and vegetables are one of our clients most sought after food options so to all the growers who donated, thank you for your labor and generosity!
A special thank-you to the Bailey Farm and Jerry Stansberry for the land dedicated for the Martha Perry Community Garden; the countless hours of growing and gleaning fresh produce and the many pounds of food delivered to our Food Bank.
