If you would like to direct your donation to a specific program, please indicate your selection in the Designated Fund field when you donate online or on the memo line of your check. Unspecified donations will be applied to the Food Bank Operations Fund.
The Food Bank Operations Fund
This fund supports our food distribution programs and day to day operations of the Snohomish Community Food Bank. We are a non-profit organization concerned for the welfare of people within our community. With dignity and respect, we serve all residents in need who live within the Snohomish School District boundaries. However, no hungry individual or family will ever be turned away on their first visit regardless of residency. We graciously provide emergency food assistance and refer them to the food bank serving their community.
This program provides weekend groceries to “homeless” middle and high school students. These young adults are facing a world of uncertainty and Food-2-Go takes away the stress of buying their own food.
Home Delivery Program
Focused on serving housebound individuals, this program allows people to choose items from the same menu as our Tuesday and Friday food distribution fare. We make a personal phone call to our Home Delivery clients the day prior to their delivery and a team of volunteers box and deliver to more than a dozen local families.
This essential program provides formula, baby food, infant cereal and diapers to families with babies. We distribute an average of 150 infant bags each month ensuring our infants and toddlers have a healthy first step. Sponsored by funds from local Kiwanis Clubs.
All area kids age 18 and younger are invited to join our Kids Café summer breakfast and lunch program. There is no pre-registration or sign-up. Kids just need to show up and enjoy a great breakfast and/or lunch. Over 25,000 free breakfasts and lunches were served during the summer of 2014. This is a collaborative effort with the Snohomish School District, Boys and Girls Club and the Snohomish Community Food Bank. Supported by funds from Kohl’s, Bickford Motors, Sodexo and Tulalip Tribes.
Pet Food Program
Where people and pets unite, our Pet Food program provides a minimum of pet food to alleviate the weekly grocery bill for our families. We do not budget nor purchase for this program and it is supported solely through donations. Sponsored in part by Purrfect Pals.
Our Pre-Pack Program provides groceries for the homeless and other clients who do not have access to regular cooking facilities. We pack bags with easy to open and prepare food and when available, self-heating meals. We also include fresh fruit, vegetables, bread and supplies at the time of service.
Snohomish Special Service Shuttle Fund
In partnership with the Community Kitchen, Senior Center and under the direction of the Zion Lutheran Church, we provide a drop off service to our clients within the Snohomish City limits who have no other way home from the Food Bank. For those who can get here on Tuesdays between 3:00-5:30, the shuttle will furnish clients with a ride home, groceries in hand, making it possible to provide more food for their families.
We need a generator that will protect our electrical power in the event of an outage. We have a walk-in cooler, two walk-in freezers, two chest freezers and two refrigerated display units for client food distribution. If we lost power, we would lose thousands of dollars of good, healthy food.
Parking Lot Fund
We would like to pave our parking lot for the safety of our clients, volunteers and equipment. Currently, it is inconsistent gravel that is uneven. We have had the Conservation District design beautiful parking lot which is to be leveled with impervious asphalt and a rain garden to efficiently collect water and return it to the proper channels, instead of pooling and evaporating.
In Honor of, or Memorial Gifts
A donation made in honor of, or in memory of, is a wonderful way to recognize someone special in your life and a caring way to show your support.
Employer Matching Gifts
Many employers match donations made to non-profit organizations. Most of these programs will match your contribution dollar-for-dollar, doubling your gift-giving. Check with your employer to see if they can make your donation go even further.
